Over the past 24 hours leading up to 8:00 am on Friday (August 18), a total of nine individuals who had been diagnosed with dengue sadly lost their lives, and an additional 1,565 patients were admitted to various medical facilities across the nation.
Out of this recent toll, seven individuals were residents of Dhaka, while the remaining two were from different regions within the country.
This information was conveyed through an official press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the press release, the specifics show that 804 new cases of dengue prompted hospitalization within Dhaka city, while an additional 761 cases were reported outside of the city.
The DGHS released a statement indicating that this year's dengue-related fatalities have reached 453, a noticeable increase compared to the 281 deaths reported in the previous year.
These recent cases have pushed the cumulative patient count to 95,877, with 87,851 individuals successfully discharged from medical facilities throughout the year.
As of now, there are 7,573 active dengue patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. Among them, 3,623 are receiving care in Dhaka, while the remaining 3,950 are being treated outside the capital city.
