In Denver, ahead of the Yankees' opening game against the Rockies at Coors Field, Aaron Judge made a notable return to the field by engaging in a full-fledged batting practice session.

This marked the first time the Yankees' renowned power hitter had taken part in BP since sustaining a ligament tear in his right big toe on June 3.

Despite the toe injury occurring when Judge crashed through the outfield fence while making an impressive catch at Dodger Stadium, the determined slugger expressed no sense of restriction during the batting practice.

Judge confidently stated that he "felt no limitations whatsoever" throughout the session.

In addition to the BP session, Judge actively participated in light outfield drills, engaged in outfield catch, and even undertook some light running exercises.

With Judge on the sidelines, the Yankees have seen a decline in their offensive performance, ranking among the lowest in the league in various key categories.

As a result, the team made changes by parting ways with hitting coach Dillon Lawson and bringing in former Major League first baseman Sean Casey, who had previously played alongside manager Aaron Boone.

While he acknowledged positive signs in the past week, he emphasized the importance of reaching the next level where Judge can fully unleash his abilities, including running at full capacity with quick stops, starts, and cuts.

The hitting aspect of his recovery has been going well, according to Boone.

Regarding the possibility of Judge participating in Minor League rehab games, Boone stated that there haven't been any discussions about it yet.

The focus currently lies on ensuring Judge reaches a point where he is fully prepared to return to regular games.

The decision-making process regarding his readiness will prioritize reaching the necessary level of game endurance and stamina.

"Yankees Seek Offensive Boost in Judge's Absence, Hopeful at Coors Field"

With no set timeline for Judge's comeback, the New York Yankees embarked on the second half of the season aiming to regain their offensive prowess, even in the absence of their star player.

The team looked to hitter-friendly Coors Field as an opportunity to reignite their bats and turn their fortunes around.

For now, Judge will remain a spectator from the dugout until the day arrives when he can rejoin the action.

Although there is a possibility that he may not return at full strength, considering he has not ruled out the option of toe surgery during the offseason.

Nevertheless, even a less-than-100-percent Judge would serve as a significant morale boost for the struggling Yankees lineup.

"He's determined to push through, but he will exercise caution and know when he's truly ready," stated Boone. " ... He'll make his comeback when he feels prepared."
