When it comes to the art of heist movies, Pierce Brosnan undoubtedly reigns supreme.

With his unparalleled charm and sophistication, the iconic former James Bond stole hearts and a priceless Monet from the hallowed halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the thrilling 1999 film, "The Thomas Crown Affair."

Adding to his repertoire, Brosnan now graces the small screen as the host of History Channel's captivating series, "Greatest Heists With Pierce Brosnan."

Given his impeccable track record, it comes as no surprise that both the producer and star of the Netflix comedy heist flick "The Out-Laws," Adam Devine, was overcome with excitement when he received the news that Brosnan, at the age of 70, had agreed to portray his father-in-law in the film (now available for streaming).

"I was enjoying a delightful day at a baseball game with my family when I received the life-altering call," recounts Devine, 39, with a touch of emotion.

"I couldn't help but feel a surge of overwhelming joy. My father, noticing my reaction, inquired, 'Are you crying?' And I replied, 'You have no idea who will be joining the movie: none other than James Bond himself."

Now, let us delve into the captivating essence of Pierce Brosnan's involvement in "The Out-Laws."

Pierce Brosnan possesses the ability to deliver Adam Devine-worthy insults with remarkable finesse

"Out-Laws" takes us on a thrilling journey far removed from the world of "Thomas Crown."

In this enthralling tale, Adam Devine assumes the role of Owen Browning, a bank manager who is utterly captivated by vaults and boasts an impressive gift of gab.

Owen's world is turned upside down when his enigmatic and intimidating soon-to-be in-laws, portrayed by Pierce Brosnan and Ellen Barkin, unexpectedly arrive on the scene just days before his wedding.

The shocking revelation that this seemingly ordinary couple are, in fact, notorious bank robbers leaves Owen dumbfounded.

Bearing his comedic prowess honed from his role in the beloved film "Mrs. Doubtfire," Brosnan arrived fully prepared for improvisation.

He effortlessly conjured a myriad of clever insults essential for the character of Browning, the pompous blowhard who ultimately joins the gang of thieves.

"There were an array of jokes, ranging from the humorous references to bodily functions to witty jabs at his stature.

Countless insults were playfully hurled at the pale, diminutive goofball," Brosnan reveals, with a mischievous grin. "By the way, that last one was my own clever cutdown."

The remarkable thing was that it made it into the final cut of the movie. Another insult, which hinted at a rather unsavory and unmentionable admiration for sheep, escaped the lips of the Irish actor, leaving Devine utterly astounded.

"I've never encountered an expression like that in my entire existence," remarks Devine, still taken aback. "But Pierce effortlessly delivered it with such ease."

Pierce Brosnan and Adam Devine developed a strong bond while working together on 'The Out-Laws,' culminating in a memorable on-screen kiss between the two

Brosnan willingly embraced the comedic opportunity, gladly engaging in a hilarious smooch with his prospective on-screen son-in-law during their awkward initial encounter.

"When I read that part in the script, I jokingly contemplated backing out of the movie," quips Brosnan. "But in all honesty, I found it amusing to plant one on his plump little cheek."

Devine playfully states the obvious about Brosnan's kissing abilities, affirming, "For those curious minds, he's a fantastic kisser." He further emphasizes that the scene turned out to be just as uproarious as they had anticipated during the filming process.

Yet another unforgettable moment unfolded when Devine fearlessly launched himself through the driver's car window, with Brosnan at the helm of the escape vehicle.

"The stunt crew didn't have much faith in my abilities, except when it came to diving into a car and holding on for dear life," Devine reveals. "They believed it would be far more comical and awkward if I did it myself."

During certain takes, Devine's enthusiasm in executing the dive was slightly excessive.

"Naturally, he would dive in with such vigor, his legs sticking out of the window, and his head landing squarely in my (lap)," chuckles Brosnan. "However, they wisely chose not to include that particular moment in the final cut of the movie."

Undoubtedly, the unmistakable essence of James Bond makes a captivating appearance in 'The Out-Laws'

"Out-Laws" features a playful Bond reference that Devine playfully instigated by comically brandishing a squirt gun, reminiscent of the iconic 007 style. Barkin, eventually falling into the trap, drew a comparison between the goofy bank manager and James Bond.

"Which incarnation?" inquires Brosnan during the scene.

"Number five," responds Barkin, coincidentally aligning with Brosnan's portrayal of the suave superspy in the official Bond film series.

Brosnan's response to the meta moment was filled with satisfaction. "Oh, that one landed perfectly," he acknowledges.

"As soon as those words left my lips, I knew it was a scene-stealer."

The actor effortlessly delivered powerful punches during the action-packed fight sequences in "Out-Law" and convincingly portrayed the art of safe-cracking.

However, Brosnan truly shines when he brings his quintessential 007 aura to the realm of broad comedy, as demonstrated in the uproarious vegan bakery shootout, complete with absurdly exploding cakes.

In a surprising turn, Brosnan opted to wear his own wedding ring while portraying Dr. Fate in "Black Adam," a departure from his usual practice.

Director Tyler Spindel attempted to guide Brosnan through the intricate choreography of his character's dramatic exit from the bakery amidst the chaos caused by the exploding cakes.

"While I was with the stunt team, showing Pierce the steps, he simply said, 'Don't worry, I'll make it look cool,'" recalls Spindel.

"And then, in true Pierce fashion, he flawlessly executed the scene, exuding an air of effortless coolness. It was a reminder of why he's a bona fide movie star."

Pierce Brosnan pays homage to the remarkable talent of Tina Turner, who famously contributed to the iconic soundtrack of "GoldenEye."

Brosnan fondly reminisces about collaborating with the legendary Tina Turner, an "icon" who sadly passed away at the age of 83 in May.

Turner, a trailblazing figure in the rock 'n' soul genre, lent her mesmerizing vocals to the theme song "GoldenEye" (penned by U2's Bono and The Edge) for Brosnan's portrayal of James Bond in 1995.

"She delivered an exceptional performance, creating a beautiful song," expresses Brosnan, who recently paid homage to Turner on Instagram by sharing a nostalgic snapshot of the two of them together.

The photo captures a moment from the movie's premiere in London, where they had the honor of meeting then-Prince Charles. "I recall it as a joyous celebration. After all, we were part of a Bond film."
