Following the fifth Test, England emerged victorious, resulting in a series draw of 2-2. Traditionally, both teams mingle after the match. However, on this occasion, Australia's cricketers stayed at the venue late into the night, hoping for the opportunity to socialize with their counterparts.

Unfortunately, the chance never materialized, as a reliable source close to the Australian cricket team disclosed to foxsports.com.au that England declined the invitation, leaving the Australian players disappointed.

An anonymous insider commented, expressing their indifference towards the issue, stating, "The urn is in our possession, so we aren't overly concerned. Nonetheless, it's disheartening to witness such pettiness after an intense and competitive series. Where is the spirit of cricket in all of this?"

England has firmly denied the accusation that they deliberately refused to share a drink with the Australian team after the Ashes series. They explained that retirement speeches by Stuart Broad and Moeen Ali were still ongoing, and the Australians had already left by the time those speeches concluded.

However, the Australian camp has rejected England's explanation. According to Foxsports.com.au, England departed the venue sometime between 10.45 pm and 11 pm local time, which was more than four hours after the final ball of the series was bowled.

During this time, Australia repeatedly tried to arrange a gathering in the dressing rooms, but the doors remained locked, leading the Australians to eventually give up.

England captain Ben Stokes later addressed the situation on Twitter, stating that their wrap-up meeting took longer than anticipated due to multiple last-minute events.

He clarified that they eventually agreed to meet up at a different location, although specific details about the arrangement remained unclear. Stokes added that they chose to convene in a night club instead of the dressing room.

During a crucial moment in the series, tensions escalated in the Ashes rivalry when Alex Carey's contentious stumping of Jonny Bairstow led to an Australian victory at Lord's.

The incident left England coach Brendon McCullum outraged, stating that any future beer-sharing between the teams seemed highly unlikely.

Despite Australia retaining the urn with a series draw, England demonstrated their strength by securing victories at Headingley and the Oval, establishing themselves as the stronger side in the latter part of the competition.
