On a thrilling Friday at the British Open, Brian Harman showcased his remarkable skills, surging to an impressive 10-under score.

The rest of the field now faces the daunting challenge of closing the gap and dethroning the determined leader as the tournament unfolds.

Chasing the Leader: Brian Harman Dominates on Moving Day!

Saturday at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, England witnessed an awe-inspiring performance from Brian Harman as he surged ahead with an impressive 6-under display, widening his lead to a commanding five shots.

This outstanding performance brought his total score to an impressive 10-under, placing him in an enviable position to claim his first-ever major championship.

According to Golf Digest's Shane Ryan, history favors players with a five-shot lead after 36 holes in a 72-hole major championship.

Among the 12 players who have achieved this feat, an impressive 10 of them went on to win, with the most recent example being Scottie Scheffler at the Masters last year.

The only two exceptions were Bobby Clampett at the British Open in 1982 and Henry Cooper at the Masters in 1936. Harman has also etched his name in the record books, boasting the largest 36-hole lead in the 13 occasions the British Open has graced Royal Liverpool's course.

While Harman is soaring high, Tommy Fleetwood holds a lone second place at 5-under, carding an even-par 71 on Friday after sharing the lead in the opening 18 holes.

Sepp Straka stands firm in third place at 4-under, while Min Woo Lee, Shubhankar Sharma, and Jason Day are all tied at 3-under.

Among the notable contenders is Jordan Spieth, a former British Open champion, at 2-under for the week, striving to close the gap.

Another prominent name in the mix is Rory McIlroy, fresh from his victory at the Genesis Scottish Open, currently standing at 1-under.

Notably, McIlroy's last major championship triumph dates back to 2014 when the British Open was last held at Royal Liverpool.

While Harman's lead is substantial, his victory is far from guaranteed, with two more thrilling days of golf ahead. As the competitors gear up for Sunday's final round, the stage is set for potential game-changing performances on Moving Day.
